Wishfulfilling Jewel, Sundays, 8-9am with Steve Rosborough and Mondays,
Quick Path**, Thursdays 5-7pm, with Isabella Rupp
** (for recipients of Highest Yoga Tantric Empowerment only)
POWA (prayers for the recently deceased) will be on the 1st Sunday of every month, 12:30-1:30pm.
Prayers for the Recently Deceased (POWA)
A lovely ritual practice where we engage in prayers on behalf of those who have recently deceased (this practice is appropriate for any sentient being, including family, friends and animals).
The practice entails a transference of consciousness, whereby through chanted prayers and mantras, the participants assist in directing the consciousness of the recently deceased directly to the Pure Land.
If you wish, you may bring a small white offering (food item, candle or flower).
Heart Jewel with Lamrim Meditation
This is the daily practice of Kadampa practitioners throughout the world to aid in the development of wisdom.
A special Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa combined with the condensed sadhana of his Dharma Protector and a short guided mediation on Lamrim. This puja includes two practices revealed by the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri. The first is a special Guru yoga in which we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa, who himself is a manifestation of Manjushri.
By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we will naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular we will attain a very special Dharma wisdom.
Check calendar for times.
Offering to the Spiritual Guide
With Food Offering (Tsog)
This practice is traditionally held on the 10th and 25th of each month.
This is a special Guru Yoga of Je Tsongkhapa in conjunction with Highest Yoga Tantra that is a preliminary practice for Vajrayana Mahamudra.
The main practice is relying upon our Spiritual Guide as a Buddha and making praises and requests, but it also includes all the essential practices of the stages of the path and training the mind, as well as both the generation stage and completion stage of Highest Yoga Tantra.By relying upon Je Tsongkhapa our compassion, wisdom, and spiritual power naturally increase. This practice includes a tsog offering so you can bring a vegetarian food offering with you if you wish.
Melodious Drum - Prayers to our
Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden
Once a month, we make special prayers to Dorje Shugden, our Dharma Protector. A Dharma Protector is an emanation of a Buddha or a Bodhisattva who functions to avert the inner and outer obstacles that prevent practitioners from gaining spiritual realizations, and to arrange all the necessary conditions for their practice.
This puja takes place on or around the 29th day of each month. Come along, and if you wish, bring an offering (food or flowers).
Tara Puja | Green Tara Chanted Prayers
Held on or near the 8th of the month. Check calendar for exact date & time.
At Kadampa Centers worldwide, the eighth of the month is Tara Day. Tara is a female Buddha, whose name means “Rescuer. She is the embodiment of swift compassion. If we rely upon Tara sincerely and with strong faith, she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfill all our wishes. Everyone is welcome and invited to join us for Tara’s chanted prayer practice, Liberation from Sorrow. (1 hour)
